Greetings from Oregon, where berries are bountiful, and the skies are cloudy all day! Actually, we've had rather fair weather here, and the forecast just keeps getting better. Maddie and I have had a great time with family, thus far, but can't wait for Kurt to join us tomorrow. We've missed him so much! On Thursday we head out East to Cultas Lake where we'll camp with more family until Tuesday. We'll see if Madeline likes to 'rough it', though I don't know if I could call sleeping and eating in an RV with a TV and Microwave roughing it. Happy 4th of July!

Maddie is Ten Months Old!
Hello Everyone! Can you believe it? Maddie is ten months old today! It just seems like yesterday that we brought her home, unsure of whether to put her down or hold her all day. She was so small back then. Right now she weighs in at 21 lb. and measures 29 in.! She's getting much more mobile (and might I say aggressive) everyday, and I can see the challenges we have before us. Can anyone tell me when babies understand the concept of "no"? Sometimes I think Maddie is playing dumb on purpose and doesn't want to let on that she understands more than we think she does.
This is the week of our big move. Kurt and I will begin moving boxes over tonight and through the week, but we'll save the furniture for Saturday when we actually start sleeping at the new place. I'm learning to live with fair amounts of chaos, so I think things are actually going well right now. I know this because I haven't cried yet. However, the week isn't over yet, so please keep us in your prayers! Madeline still has that nagging cold, though the worst, contagious part seems to be over.
Kurt successfully finished his internship, and is now on staff at church as a pastoral assisstant. This is going to be another great experience for him as he gets more pastoral hands-on experience, from publishing "The Messenger", to hospital visits, along with keeping contact with church members.
Well, I'm off to tackle the laundry and pack my heart out!
Take care,
Jayna
