In July Kurt and I took a weekend getaway in Seattle, WA, visiting favorite places, old memories, and making new ones! It was the first time we'd been away from Maddie overnight, but such a good time for us and our marriage! Enjoy the pics! 

We loved to watch the sail boats on Lake Washington from Kirkland. 

Kurt is a happy camper now! 

We enjoyed Tulley's coffee everymorning in downtown Kirkland. Seattle is just behind us across Lake Washington.

We caught a beautiful sunset from a dock in Kirkland, WA. Isn't Kurt handsome? 

It was so fun visiting these beautiful places! 

This is a beautiful view from Golden Gardens Park on Puget Sound. I believe it was named for the golden sunsets when those blasted clouds aren't in the way. Imagine those clouds are gone, and you'd see a majestic line of mountains!

Here is a taste of Pike Street Farmers Market 

Here we have the very first Starbucks establishment before those geniuses placed one at every mall and on every corner, addicting us all to caffeine and giving us the jitters! 

These guys are a fixture in front of Starbucks on Pike Street. They bring down the house singing jazz, soul, the blues, etc. 

When visiting Pike Street Market, you must rub the bronze pig for good luck (and then immediately wash your hands afterwards). Of course, I don't really believe in luck....let's call it good providence? 

Feast your eyes on my favorite dessert: a Coupe Diletante from Diletante's in Seattle. Enjoy with a good cup of coffee for a little taste of heaven.

This is Jayna with Chris, a friend from the past who also happened to be her boss and landlord at one time or another. What would young, homeless college grads do without people like Chris? It was great to visit my alma mater and see friends from the past!
