In July Kurt and I took a weekend getaway in Seattle, WA, visiting favorite places, old memories, and making new ones! It was the first time we'd been away from Maddie overnight, but such a good time for us and our marriage! Enjoy the pics! Posted by Picasa

We loved to watch the sail boats on Lake Washington from Kirkland. Posted by Picasa

Kurt is a happy camper now! Posted by Picasa

We enjoyed Tulley's coffee everymorning in downtown Kirkland. Seattle is just behind us across Lake Washington. Posted by Picasa

Another view from Skyline Drive.  Posted by Picasa

This a great view from Skyline Drive of Seattle. and look, the sun actually shines in the Northwest! Posted by Picasa

We caught a beautiful sunset from a dock in Kirkland, WA. Isn't Kurt handsome? Posted by Picasa

It was so fun visiting these beautiful places! Posted by Picasa

This is a beautiful view from Golden Gardens Park on Puget Sound. I believe it was named for the golden sunsets when those blasted clouds aren't in the way. Imagine those clouds are gone, and you'd see a majestic line of mountains! Posted by Picasa

Does anyone recognize this place from Sleepless in Seattle? Posted by Picasa

Here is a taste of Pike Street Farmers Market Posted by Picasa

Here we have the very first Starbucks establishment before those geniuses placed one at every mall and on every corner, addicting us all to caffeine and giving us the jitters! Posted by Picasa

These guys are a fixture in front of Starbucks on Pike Street. They bring down the house singing jazz, soul, the blues, etc. Posted by Picasa

When visiting Pike Street Market, you must rub the bronze pig for good luck (and then immediately wash your hands afterwards). Of course, I don't really believe in luck....let's call it good providence? Posted by Picasa

Feast your eyes on my favorite dessert: a Coupe Diletante from Diletante's in Seattle. Enjoy with a good cup of coffee for a little taste of heaven. Posted by Picasa

Kurt with Dr. and Mrs. S. These wonderful people are Kurt's 'adopted' parents while he lived in Washington. May God give them extra jewels in their crown! Posted by Picasa

Fruits and Vegetables....isn't this romantic? Posted by Picasa

This is Jayna with Chris, a friend from the past who also happened to be her boss and landlord at one time or another. What would young, homeless college grads do without people like Chris? It was great to visit my alma mater and see friends from the past! Posted by Picasa

Thanks Uncle Buck and Aunt Kristen for my Peek-a-blocks set! Posted by Picasa

We are wearing our food more these days.  Posted by Picasa

Madeline and Bethany find a world of fun in the tupperware cabinet Posted by Picasa

Bethany says, "Maddie, come sit still like me so we can go play after your mom takes our picture!" Posted by Picasa

Taking pics of young toddlers is like trying to heard cats! Posted by Picasa

Maddie is finally willing to take some very shaky steps with a lot of help. In fact, I don't know that I would even classify them as steps, but there you are. Posted by Picasa

Maddie and Abi are sun bathing beauties! Posted by Picasa

Madeline says, "Wow Abi! What a long tongue you have!" Posted by Picasa

I wish it could be summer time all year long! Posted by Picasa
